Blueprint - "Radio-Inactive"

Off of Blueprint's new album, "Adventures in Counter-Culture." In addition to founding his own label, Weightless Recordings, Blueprint is signed and currently touring with Rhymesayers. I'm a huge fan of Rhymesayers and this song is getting added my list of reasons why. I first heard this somehow relaxed and epic track on a Rhymesayers European Tour clip and was instantly impressed. One of those 'gotta have it' moments led me to his new album. You can see the influences he has drawn from other Rhymesayers artists in the way he samples clips and the instrumental and vocal influence seem to lean towards his work with RJD2. Certainly worth a listen, enjoy.

Tyler The Creator - Yonkers

Hello Natural Selection Nation, it's been a while.

For the faint of heart: Don't watch the video. You've been forwarned.

I can't remember where I picked this one up but I've been meaning to blog it for a bit. Tyler the Creator and his crew OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All), hail from LA, California. Simply said, these guys are fuckin' nuts. Their style fascinatingly deviant and as I watch I can't help but think... that's fucked up; but at the same time I can't look away. Also, I can vibe with just about anyone who's hatin on bruno mars. Odd Future is picking up steam so be on the lookout for em.

Mike Forgette - It's Not Me

I'm from north shore mass so you know that anytime I get music from a local up and coming artist I gotta hype it. Mike Forgette hails from Gloucester, MA and has been workin hard on putting together some quality music. I've heard a lot of his material and I'll tell you right now, this kid has the potential to make it big. This song is off of his mixtape Colors, which is chock full of solid tunes. If you like this song then definitely check out the rest of his music and visit his facebook fan page here. He does a lot of local shows too so if you live in the area, definitely hit one up.

Pete Rock & InI - Step Up

Some more Pete Rock & InI for your enjoyment. Can't get enough of this kind of music. Nothing beats old school rap. Back to the roots.

Birdman feat. Lil Wayne - Fire Flame (Remix) (New Hip Hop November 2010)...

Welcome back lil wayne! I love this song, the beat get's you going and of course lil wayne's verse is great. He is so creative and even though he isn't insanely lyrical he can rap on any kind of beat and make that song a hit. I am currently blasting this as loud as it can possibly go, and if you listen to this song I suggest you do the exact same thing. Unfortunately, Birdman is on the beat as well, I have to say he might be the worst rapper! Thank God Lil Wayne is on the remix because he definitely saves this song and makes it worth listening to. God I love LIL WAYNE!

Girl Talk - This is the Remix

Diggin this mix right here. That's the end of the Girl Talk posts, grab the whole album on the website free of charge. Here's the link again: http://illegal-art.net/allday/

Girl Talk - Oh No

Opening track off the All Day album. Between this intro and the beginning of Play Your Part (Pt.1) its safe to say that Girl Talk knows how to kick on an album.

Girl Talk - Triple Double

As some of you may already know Girl Talk just released a new album yesterday titled All Day. Mr. Gillis picks up right where he left of with Feed the Animals; this album is just plain fun to listen to. It is meant to be listened to as one continuous stream and the download is available as one 72 minute-ish track. Thankfully, it is also available in shorter clips and I'll post a few of my favorites here. Go to http://illegal-art.net/allday/ to download the full album for FREE!

Lissie - Kid Cudi live cover - Pursuit Of Happiness

In general I love the new electronic sounds that have taken over the music scene in recent years. I'm a big fan of Ratatat, MGMT, Passion Pit, of course T-Pain, and many more. However, there is something to be said for doin it a little more old school. I know everyone here is a KiD CuDi disciple so I figured this non-hip hop post would be acceptable. Lissie and her crew do a great job with this cover; between the more subdued instrumentals and Lissie's strong vocal's the excellence of the original songwriting is really able to shine.
