Collin McLoughlin - Airplanes (remix)

A really chill R&B remix of B.o.B's Airplanes. Collin McLoughlin is an up and coming R&B singer with a phenomenal voice, which you'll definitely notice on this track. Here's what his manager has to say:

"Collin is busy recording the last few tracks for his debut project [which] will be released early this fall. It is yet to have a title, but rest assured it will be a great first impression. Look out for some special collaborations and production credits on there as well."

Become a fan of Collin McLoughlin on facebook and check out his website. Leave some comments and tell me what you think of this guy.

Hoodie Allen - You Are Not A Robot (feat. Marina & The Diamonds)

I told you I'd post more Hoodie Allen soon, so enjoy it. This is the first pre-released song from his upcoming mixtape "Pep Rally." Something about the high pitched vocals in the sample is super catchy (Hoodie samples UK Pop Darling Marina & The Diamond's track "I Am Not A Robot"). Make sure you have proper speakers/headphones to listen to this the right way because it's definitely a bass heavy tune.

Kanye West v. The Glitch Mob (Frail Limb Purity Mash Up)

Dark and mysterious tune, but it's got great vibe. Something you can definitely bob your head to. Frail Limb Purity does a great job mashing The Glitch Mob's "Bad Wings" with Kanye's latest, "Power." Might be a little heavy for some listeners, but I think you'll still like it. Don't forget to rate these songs below and comment!

Aziz featuring Dave Pettibone - Praying For Rain

Great summer jam. Aziz does a great job mixing a catchy rock sample with hip hop flavors. Love the chorus too. Definitely my favorite Aziz song so far. He's coming out with some new music soon so be ready for more! Thanks to Brobible.com for their great summer mixtape, which included this groovin jam.

Mac Miller - Nikes On My Feet

Props to G for showin me this song. Great song to vibe to. Will definitely be adding this to the chillen playlist soon. Here's what the YouTube info says about this new, young talent:

18 Year old Pittsburgh & Newly Signed Rostrum Records MC drops his newest and most anticipated mixtape "K.I.D.S" This mixtape features mostly ALL original music and only one guest appearance from fellow label mate Chevy Woods.

You can follow Mac Miller on twitter (@MacMiller) if you want to stay updated on his latest music. I'm sure we'll hear from this kid again.

First version of the Thuggin Out playlist just released!

Check out the latest playlist "Thuggin Out." It's just a first version (many more songs to come), but enjoy it for now. It's filled with mostly hardcore rap, so consider yourself warned.

Oldies Dance Jams updated

A bunch of new songs have been added to the Oldies Dance Jams playlist. It should be long enough now for most occasions, but keep sending suggestions of songs to add.

Cypress Hill- Armada Latina (Featuring Marc Anthony & Pitbull)

Cypress Hill is back! Armada Latina is a great jam that samples Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young's Suite Judy Blue Eyes and puts a heavy latino twist on it. Great for dance parties or just chillin out. It's got a nice summer vibe to it. Props to my man Johnny B for showing me this song.

New Logo!

Hope everyone loves the new logo as much as I do! It comes courtesy of my man Ryan Brewster, graphic designer extraordinaire. Thanks for answering the call.

Stay tuned for some more great music and some new playlists!

Lushlife - The Songbird Athletic

I told you I'd post some more Lushlife in the near future, so here it is. Off of the same 2009 album Cassette City, which is a goldmine of great tunes, The Songbird Athletic makes use of an incredibly catchy guitar lick that's mellow and flavorful. And the MC does a great job spitting over the beat. True hip hop. Sorry if the quality is not optimal, blame the YouTube post.

Brenton Duvall - Ambien (Sleepy Trip) (Passion Pit vs Lil Wayne)

Another fantastic mashup by Brenton Duvall. The sample from Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead" blends nicely with the beats and lyrics from Trina's "Don't Trip (ft. Lil Wayne)." I particularly like the beginning when Weezy comes in, but listen all the way through and let me know what you think.

DJ Abunai - I'm Yours Forever (Drake vs. Jason Mraz)

One of the chillest mashups I've heard in a long time, period. Props to GMAD for introducing me to this guy. Be ready for more from DJ Abunai in the future, he's got some serious talent and I'll definitely post a few more of his songs. Hit the link to check out his website and get his songs for free.

Second playlist is up!

It's still a work in progress but I've created a second playlist titled "Oldies Dance Jams" that is a compilation of songs mostly from the 60s, 70s, and 80s that are fun to listen to and even more fun to dance to. If you're ever sick of hip hop and rap, give the Oldies Dance Jams a shot. Don't forget to leave comments and suggestions of songs to add.

Cee-Lo Green - F**K YOU

Gnarls Barkley MC Cee-Lo Green does a fantastic job putting together this sassy tune. It will be on his next album The Ladykiller, so be ready for that when it comes out. Just a classic jam that anyone can vibe to (not to mention a great sing-along if you don't mind the profanity). Watch the video while listening, it makes it funnier.

First playlist is up!

I'm proud to announce the release of The Natural Selection's first playlist "Chillen," which can be accessed by clicking the image above (or the tab at the top). This playlist is designed for you to listen to at laid back parties, late night chill sessions, or when you're just jonesin' on your computer with the headphones on. You get the idea. Leave comments about the playlist and give suggestions for songs to add. Remember, it's a work in progress. I expect to add at least another 30-40 songs to the playlist before it's done. But enjoy it for now and stay tuned for more playlists.

Hoodie Allen - Words of Wisdom (feat. Two Door Cinema Club)

A very laid back song by a very talented up and coming artist. I'll let the YouTube info do the talking here:

"The second release off of Hoodie Allen's upcoming mixtape "Pep Rally". Words of Wisdom samples Two Door Cinema Club's "Undercover Martyn". It's a soulful and catchy tune that gives off a very chill hip hop vibe - perfect listening for those backyard barbeques and long drives in the car."

Stay tuned for more of Hoodie Allen and be sure to listen to his mixtape when it comes out in September.

Playlists coming soon!

So I've gotten a few requests to add playlists for different occasions (pre-gaming, partying, dancing, etc.) that can play continuously and I'm working on developing that right now. Enjoy the music that I've been posting but stay tuned for these playlists because I hope to have at least some of them up soon.

B.o.B. (ft. Hayley Williams) - Airplanes (DJ MEGA MAN & PANIC CITY REMIX)

Club banger. Great for parties and dancing. DJ Megaman and DJ Panic City take Airplanes to whole new heights (pun intended). Blast this one at a party and you're guaranteed to get people moving.

As an aside: if anyone is good at graphic design and stuff like that, I'd love to create a logo or a more fancy header for this page. Hit me up if you think you've got some good ideas.

Brenton Duvall - World Tour (ft. Lil Wayne and Dr. Dre)

A fantastic take on A Tribe Called Quest's Award Tour. The piano sample is a great choice, and who better to spit over it than Lil Wayne and Dr. Dre, two of my all time favorites. The verses come from Kevin Rudolf's "Let It Rock" (ft. Lil Wayne) and of course Dre's "Forgot About Dre" (ft. Emimem). This track comes off of the BroBible Summer Mixtape, which you'll be hearing a lot more about in the future. Enjoy!

S.Rod - Matter of Time/ The Rebirth

Love the sample on this beat. Listen all the way to the end because the outro is probably my favorite part. Definitely a great summer song. It comes off of S.Rod's 3 song EP called The VA Beach Sessions. Let me know what you think by rating it below.

Rhymefest ft Scram Jones - Rhyme Slow, Rhyme Quick

Rhymefest redoes a classic 1991 rap tune by Nice & Smooth. I didn't know this until recently but apparently Rhymefest is one of the best freestyle rappers in the business. He even beat Eminem in a freestyle battle a while back. He's got a lot of good tracks out there that people don't know about. I'll post a few more if you guys like this one. Enjoy!

Lushlife - Until the Sun Dies

One of my favorite new discoveries! Lushlife has a lot of good tunes but this one really caught my ear. The intro is a bit long (0:25 is where the song should've started, in my humble opinion), but that really can't take away from the amazingly catchy chorus and the smooth flow. Stay tuned for more of Lushlife in the future!

The first song!

One of the dopest remixes I've heard in a long time. It's more serious than most songs I'll post, but after all it is The Fray. This mashup was done by Mother Earth Remixes, an up and coming mashup artist who you'll definitely hear from again. I'm sure I'll post another one of his songs sometime soon. Plug in the headphones, jack 'em up, and really listen to this song; it mashes so well. Don't forget to leave comments and follow The Natural Selection if you like what you hear.
